End of Utilities Accounts Deferral Program

Posted On: Monday, August 24, 2020

In March 2020, when the COVID-19 Pandemic was declared, the Town of Nipawin chose to implement an interim change policy to assist residents by allowing for deferral on payment of utility accounts.  The deferral was implemented to help reduce difficulties that the pandemic may have caused for residents of the community.  The deferral included not disconnecting water services for non-payment of water services for a period of time.

As the Saskatchewan Re-Open plan has gradually seen the Province and service re-opening, and the Federal Assistance Programs have been in place for a number of months, the deferral program will end on September 30, 2020.

Effective September 30, 2020 all utility accounts with arrears or outstanding balance amounts are due and payable to avoid disconnection.

To continue to assist residents who may continue to experience difficulty bringing their utility accounts to current, those residents are encouraged to contact the Town of Nipawin Utilities Department at (306) 862-9866 before September 30, 2020 to discuss and arrange possible payment options.
