The Nipawin Town Council is dedicated to guiding our community toward a prosperous and vibrant future. Composed of elected officials who are passionate about serving the people of Nipawin, the Council works to ensure that our town remains a great place to live, work, and grow.

The Nipawin Town Council consists of the Mayor and six Councillors, all of whom are elected by the residents of Nipawin. Each member brings a unique perspective and set of skills to the table, working collaboratively to address the needs and aspirations of our community. Together, they are committed to making decisions that reflect the values and priorities of Nipawin’s residents.

The Council is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the town, including:

The Council develops and enacts policies that affect various aspects of community life, from infrastructure and economic development to environmental stewardship and public safety.

The Council oversees the town’s budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the community.

Engaging with residents is a top priority. The Council actively seeks input from the public through meetings, surveys, and community events, ensuring that decisions are informed by the voices of Nipawin’s citizens.

The Council is focused on long-term planning to ensure that Nipawin continues to thrive. This includes initiatives related to sustainable development, housing, and improving public services.

Attend a Council meeting, reach out to a member of Council, or participate in community consultations.

Council Meetings

Council meetings are an opportunity for the Mayor, Councillors, and the administrative staff to discuss a variety of topics relating to the alignment of strategic goals, operations, governance, structure, and policy of the Town of Nipawin.

Regular council Meetings are the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month: 7:00 pm

In July, August, and December regular meetings will only be held on the 2nd Monday of the month. 

If a scheduled meeting date falls on a statutory holiday, the meeting will be moved to Tuesday.

Operations and Governance Committee meetings are monthly rotating  and are on the 1st Wednesday of the month.

Attendance is open to the public or available via livestream

Municipal Election
